How We Help

The Leduc Hub Association is a registered charity established in 2008 to provide a safe and supportive community for individuals in Leduc and District who may be experiencing homelessness or poverty and in need of food, shelter, and support.

The Leduc Hub is located across from the grain elevator and has provided 10 mats for overnight shelter and daytime community connections programming in this location since 2020. Daytime services included snacks, showers, laundry, social interaction, and referrals for clothing, housing, health and social services.  Thanks to our generous donors and partnerships with other service providers, we were able to help many people in need from Leduc and surrounding communities.

In response to urgent needs,  the Leduc Hub expanded services to 24 hours, 7 days per week in April 2023. This includes providing overnight shelter from 8:30 pm-8:30 am and daytime programming the rest of the time, thus addressing one of the gaps identified in the City of Leduc Homelessness & Poverty Framework released in 2022.  By operating 24/7/365 we improved services to clients and reduced growth in encampments and related challenges such as open drug use, social disorder and crime.  We are grateful to our funders, donors, staff, neighbours, and volunteers who help us serve those in need.

Even small acts of kindness and contributions can collectively create a significant impact. By coming together as a community and addressing the issues of homelessness and poverty, we can make a positive change in the lives of our fellow human beings.

If you’d like more information or need guidance on how to get involved, please feel free to reach out to us. Together, we can be a force for positive change.

Who Are We?

Established as a registered charity in 2008 under the name “Leduc & District Emergency Shelter Association”, we have grown and expanded our programs and supports for the City of Leduc and Leduc County over the years.

The Hub took on the Coats for Families program, providing donated warm coats free of charge.

A new name and logo in 2018 better depicts our goal of giving a helping hand to all that are in urgent need.

Having raised enough funds, the Hub was able to open the first full-time Overnight Winter Shelter at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.

The Hub partnered with Gateway Family Church to provide shelter and daytime services at 5110-47 Street.

The Hub began offering services 24/7/365 in April 2023.
